Happy Halloween! What a great holiday to practice the Camp R.O.C.K.s as kiddos and as adults. ICYMI, Famous Adventures values are
Responsibility, Outdoors, Curiosity and Kindness.
Most importantly: Be Kind. Are older kids trick-or-treating? Awesome! Give them candy. Not from your neighborhood? Welcome! Our neighborhood is safe for your kids.
Be Curious, not judgmental. This one can be tricky (pun intended). What do you say to the late-comers or the early-birds? Are you the person who gives one piece of candy to each kid, or lets them grab (sometimes a handful)? Do you listen when kids tell you about their costume?
Halloween is about being Outdoors! Stop to look at the stars and listen for the owls in your neighborhood. Take the opportunity to meet a new neighbor. Slow down and enjoy the night.
Responsibility. As adults, Halloween gives us infinite opportunities to each out kiddos: say "thank you," "stay with your friends," "slow down!" It's exhausting, but it's worth it to model responsible actions throughout the night.
And the big question: how much candy are your kiddos allowed to eat on Halloween night? Thank goodness it's a Friday this year, and the long weekend is extra recovery time.
