Famous Adventures is TEN!

I started Famous Adventures 10 years ago, in 2016, as a passion project and culmination of my education and early career. Over a decade, Famous Adventures has grown into a thriving community of kind, curious kids and their families.

It is with heartfelt thanks that I offer you a few glimpses into the very first summer of camp - the staff refer to the early years are the "Wild Times" - as we developed the unique experience that makes camp so special.

None of this is possible without your belief in our mission: Famous Adventures provides outdoor adventures for children to promote kindness and responsibility through curiosity about our natural world.

How it all started...

The very first Famous Adventures group looks VERY familiar (and not just because I love these kiddos =). Two counselors and thirteen campers went surfing, rock climbing, sea kayaking, and geocaching. We played games and acted silly and started camp traditions like "knuckles for buckles." 

I am especially grateful that Famous Adventures continues to offer inclusive, safe spaces for all kids. We also continue to foster a love of the outdoors, so that campers can grow up to be stewards of the Lowcountry and the wider world.
