Wilderness First Aid + CPR Class

Co-hosted by Famous Adventures and Charleston Collegiate School, SOLO Southeast's Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the first aid course required by summer camps and Boy Scouts of America, and is strongly recommended for international religious and school group leaders.  

Offered as a hybrid course in 2021, participants complete 8 hours online, and attend class May 8th or May 9th for 8 hours in-person learning.  See COVID-19 policies below.  

Optional CPR course after in-person class, 6-8 pm - $40 additional fee

 

Logistics: 

Minimum age: 14 years old

 

We are excited to offer a class right here in Charleston, on the beautiful campus at Charleston Collegiate!  Learn important skills and meet other locals who love working and playing outdoors.

What you'll need: 

  • Eat a healthy breakfast

  • Bring lunch and a water bottle

  • Dress appropriately for cold and/or rain.  Class takes place mostly outdoors, regardless of weather. (See COVID policy, below)

  • Ability to complete 8 hours of online learning prior or May 8th.

COVID-19 polices: 

This course if half online / half in person to allow for more participants.  SOLO will email virtual curriculum one month before class.  Students attend either Saturday OR Sunday for in-person instruction. 

 

Face coverings are required. 

 

Classes are limited to 10 people.  In-person class will be outdoors as weather allows.  Indoor space with 6 feet between students will be used if needed.
