Nature Camp 2022

For Rising 1st-3rd Grade

Weekly, June 6 -August 16

New campers are limited to 2 weeks of camp, returning campers 4 weeks

$360 +$15 registration fee

Bring lunch and water bottle - we provide the rest

West Ashley Location

South Windermere on Folly Road

(Nature camp does not meet in Mt Pleasant)

Registration opens in Jan/Feb 2022

Details​

  • Nature camp is for rising 1st-3rd graders

  • 8:30 - 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday

  • Small group of 13 campers and 2 staff

  • We travel in vans

  • Campers are outdoors each day, rain or shine

Booster Seats: While not required in passenger vans, we highly recommend booster seats for this age group.  Please plan to bring / take seats home each day. ​​

Activities​

Monday - SC Aquarium Field Trip Program

Tuesday - Birds of Prey Flight Demonstration
Wednesday - Education Program with Charleston Co. Parks
Thursday - Fossil Hunt / Beach Day
Friday - Splash Island Water Park at Palmetto Island Co. Park


 

Here's a sample week, but not a definite schedule: With the vans to travel in, afternoon activities vary each week, and may include sweet treats, parks, playgrounds, games, etc. 

Monday: Visit the SC Aquarium field trip program in the morning.  Eat lunch on the lawn, and then head to Hampton Park to climb trees. 

Tuesday:  Visit Birds of Prey for a private flight demonstration in the morning.  Tour the center and eat lunch.  Stop for sweet treats as you head to Palmetto Islands County Park in the afternoon.

 

Wednesday: Education Program with Charleston County Parks in the morning.  Stay at the park for a nature walk in the afternoon.  

Thursday: Learn about fossils in the morning, and look for shark's teeth, stay to play on the beach.  Cool down with popsicles at the Pirate Playground in the afternoon. ​

Friday: Enjoy Splash Island water park all day!
